Split in Half.

I have now split in two. Between We.Am.Likes. and alandalbyillustration

Unconscious Jungle

This is the beginning of an album cover for Unconscious Jungle I thought i'd show how my work processes on the computer. I also use a sketchbook throughout the project to help my idea generation and composition. Check out more of my work on my website

Pentagram

This is an identity for Fashion Law institute (which is pretty much what it says on the tin) by Pentagram. Combining beautiful graphics of a needle and a spool of thread in such a way that it forms a hammer. The design portrays both fashion and law in one tightly crafted image. I'm personally really impressed with the combination as it would take such a keen eye and playful hand to stumble across it. I found Pentagram through FormFiftyFive.

Jon Contino

I really love this medley of hand drawn type and Illustration by Jon Contino. I'm really drawn to the personal feel of the lettering and the dirtiness of the print. Really adds to that hand crafted old world feel.
"Whiskey-o, Johnny-o. Rise her up from down below. Whiskey, whiskey, whiskey-o. Up aloft this yard must go. Jon rise her up from down below".
I found Contino on Grain edit

Minga

Check out this lovely image from Argentinian studio, Minga. Theres 11 of these WTF prints in total, all using just two or three colours. The shark image is my favourite. The colour scheme is gorgeous, there is just the right amount of detail on the sharks, Brilliant composition and above all, a great idea. I'd love to have one of these on my wall. I found Minga on ShareSomeCandy.

The Blake Wright

The Blake Wright is absolutely filthy, Penis and Piss everywhere. He is also hilariously funny and you should definitely check out his blog. He occasionally does some images that you could show your grandma too, like this unicorn. lovely. I found Blake Wright through my friend Martin 'Elmo' Cook.

Christy Nyrini

I am loving these emoticons by Christy Nyrini. Simple, minimal, carefully constructed beauty. The whiksy glass with Ice is my favourite. I found Nyiri on Drawn blog.

Justin LaFontaine

This is one great screen-print, by Justin LaFontaine. It makes me want to get my screen-printing cap on. I love the way the colours overlap each other to form new ones, and the composition is really nice. When someone is both an Illustrator and graphic designer, the combination of the two can be really spectacular. I found LaFontaine on OK Great

Patrick Hruby

I can't get over the beauty of Patrick Hruby's Illustration. I think the work is created on Illustrator, or Illustrator then screen printed, I'm not sure. But whichever way he works, It is fantastic, life seems to burst from the straight lines and perfect curves that make up his work. If you like his website, be sure to check out his blog, which holds even more work! I found Hruby on the Mil Conners Illustration blog.

Carrie-Anne Brown

This is the work of Carrie-Anne Brown. She's just completed a degree in Illustration and is currently looking for work. Her beautiful work has a cut-out Hannah Hoch look to it with hand-drawn and printed elements too, as well as some pretty nice photography. I'm looking forward to seeing more of her work as time progresses.
